What
is CNC Machining?
Machines with
a CNC (Computerized Numerial Control) system
are equipped with a computer, consisting of one or more microprocessors
and storage facilities. Data are entered through the control panel
keyboard. The control panel enables you to make corrections in the
program stored in memory. There is a variety of milling and turning
CNC machines. All operations on these machines are carried out automatically.
Human involvement is limited to loading and unloading the workpiece
and entering the values of dimensional offsets.
What
is CAD/CAM Technology?
CAD (Computer-Aided
Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing)
have revolutionized the mechanical design and production process.
A designer no longer has to calculate complicated mathematical equations
for problems such as tangencies, intersections, center positions,
or complex surfaces. CAD/CAM saves time, resources and production
costs with its efficiency and accuracy. At Nye Machine &
Design, Inc., all CAD drawings or customer drawings are downloaded
to Mastercam®
software which allows the CNC code to be generated by the computer.
These programs are transferred by wire to the various CNC machines
within the facility.
We
have reverse engineering capabilities using Solidworks software.
